On October 8, 2024, the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering issued a notice on the issuance of the "Notice on the Award of Electric Power Science and Technology Award (2024)", which stated that according to the provisions of the "Measures for the Award of Electric Power Science and Technology Award", after evaluation by the Electric Power Science and Technology Award Review Committee and approval by the Award Committee, it was decided to award 8 projects of the Electric Power Technology Invention Award, 165 projects of the Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award, and 110 recipients of the Electric Power Science and Technology Figure Award for the year 2024, and to reward and commend them. Among them, "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Ensuring Gas Turbine Inlet Cleanliness" by National Energy Group and other units, and "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Heavy duty Gas Turbine Control and Operation" by Guodian Nanjing Automation Co., Ltd. and other units won the first prize.
Jiangsu Huaqiang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. won the first prize of the China Electric Power Science and Technology Award in 2021 for its participation in the project "Key Technologies and Applications of Gas Turbine Inlet Temperature Operation Control and Integrated Optimization under Complex Operating Conditions". In 2024, the company collaborated again on the project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Gas Turbine Inlet Cleanliness Guarantee" and won the first prize of the 2024 Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award. Mr. Chen Xin and Mr. Chen of the company also became recipients of the project.
This project is based on the background of safety risks, system costs, and system deficiencies in the auxiliary intake system of gas turbines. Key technological breakthroughs have been made in four aspects: "filter material preparation and industrialization", "new high-efficiency and low resistance filters", "intake system optimization and assembly", and "testing and evaluation system". It has been jointly linked with the National Energy Group Science and Technology Research Institute, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, South China University of Technology, North China Electric Power University, Beijing Energy Clean Energy, Guoneng Guohua, Guoneng Nanjing Electric Power, Jiangsu Huaqiang New Energy, Jiujiang Seventh Institute, Shenzhen Huasheng and other industry university research institutions. This technology has been applied in multiple typical projects, and its economic and social benefits have been effectively verified. On April 19, 2024, the appraisal committee led by Academicians Yang Yongping and Zhang Laibin of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering believed that the overall project results had reached the international advanced level.
